Somoine's story

As a 14 year old Maasai girl from Loliondo, Somoine dreamt of going to school and not being forced, like so many others, to marry an elder. She imagined a future where she would become a teacher, help other girls and break Maasai protocol. It was because of Somoine that I travelled in 2017 with UK charity African Initiatives to Loliondo to find her some 15 years later and witness her living her dreams as deputy head-mistress at Emanyatta School (means warrior's camp). She' a true inspiration.
