Another shot I produced for Tornado Automotive, an American classic car restoration company based in the UK.
For this shot of a 1970 Dodge Challenger, I wanted to emphasis the muscular and stealthy nature of the body and make it look like the car had just woken up.
I shot this in the car's garage with my Nikon D810 and 70-200 f/2.8. The shot is produced as a composite of several images. Fixing my camera/lens on a tripod, I first walked around the car holding a softbox (Lastolite Lumen8) and using a remote shutter I was able to light various profiles of the bodywork/chrome. A speedlight was then placed under the car to bring out the chassis details. Finally, I started up the car and with my foot on the break pedal, gave the throttle a few punches to send out the exhaust fumes whilst triggering the camera and 2 Lumen 8 softboxes remotely. The final shot was then edited in Lightroom and assembled in Photoshop.
