After making 4 separate sunrise trips to the mountains, this turned out to be the only image worth working on. I have a few "bucket list" images that I was going for, but the temperature proved to warm to give me what I wanted. This will have to do until next time
As for the techie stuff, as usual this is a very deep focus stack, utilizing the entire minimum-maximum focus range of my lens. +10 shots for depth of field at f8 for optimum sharpness, and one shot at f22 to smooth out the ripples in the water and create strong textural contrast. I was also striving to match similar shapes in the clouds to the foreground, something I really want to focus on this year. Even though this wasn't the most colourful shot from the morning, the clouds looked best in this composition and matched the darker curve of ice.
