Golden

Finding the last location for this series was proving difficult until one day I decided to trust my intuition and make last minute change of plans. I hiked up one of my favorite trails in the Columbia River Gorge and when I reached the top I knew I had made the right choice. If you find yourself stuck in a rut, or just want to try something new with your photography, I highly suggest challenging yourself to create a photo series. I discovered a few things through this series. There are a LOT of overlooks in the Gorge where you can spot a train traveling through a scenic area. I learned that trains do not come as often as you would hope so plan to stay 1 hour after golden hour at sunrise and arrive 1 hour before golden hour at sunset. Lastly, I found that my favorite way to view the Gorge is from a high overlook where I can take it all in.

So fantastic! Saying this from someone who has shot at this location multiple times with frustrating results. Love the trails, train, and motion in the clouds - all works so nicely together. And of course, that view and light! excellent work man

Thank you Nick, thats a wonderful compliment that I truly appreciate. I had fun using a different color/time of sky in each photo from this series and thought why not try golden hour? I'm sad I'll be moving just a little further from the Gorge in the next month but I am hopeful it doesn't prove difficult to get back out here often.
