The famous DC-3 aircraft which crashed into Sólheimasandur in 1973 is now a popular tourist attraction.
Sitting alone on the black sands of the south shore it's most often photographed in isolation. I waited ages for the tour buses to come and go to get a picture without people. I ended up favouring the one with many people in the scene. They add scale and show what the site has now become.
I agree the inclusion of the people adds to the image. You can imagine them asking "How did this get here and what happened to the passengers?". Great photo.
