I've been looking for a motel with this rustic decor for a few years. I even contemplated building a set(s) that would have the not-white-walls typical of all motels I've been in. I don't know what it is about Motels/Hotels - but they must all be ordering from the same Motel IKEA catalog. On a road trip, I saw this "Rustic Oasis" motel and figured - "How could this dust bin motel have the same tame interior like everyone else." Luckily it didn't.
I was able to get Mary to fly in from San Francisco to sit for this photo. We planned an entire weekend of photoshooting and other fun stuff as well.
All in all, I think this photo came out 95% for what I had in mind, and look forward to producing more for this series.
