Bride

I realized that all of the pics I initially uploaded are the kind that I just shoot for myself. I actually do shoot for money sometimes, so I should probably upload more of those! No time like the present, right?

Backlit bridal portrait using a 50mm 1.4D lens on my Nikon D810. This was a really cool wedding in Chicago, a large portion of which took place on a boat—a first for me. We're still in the hotel at this point, though. The bride had finished hair and makeup and just gotten into her dress. I filtered the window light through a curtain and threw the aperture wide open. The lens I used isn't the sharpest, and it often has SERIOUS issues with purple fringing, but there's a certain vintage look that it gets that none of my other lenses come close to approximating.
