This is a view of Long Pond from the western slope of Beech Mountain in Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island in Maine. I made it to the top of the mountain for sunrise which only lasted a minute or two and then headed over to the west side. I think the view is actually better on this side, but I figured I wouldn't get a dramatic sunrise over here since it would be blocked by the mountain, which is why I came here second. This picture was taken during a quick three-day trip back home to Maine. I made a video of the locations I photographed in which I talk a bit about my process as I look for good early morning shots.
