California Dream

One of the things I'm doing this year is trying to capture the feeling of living in the beach cities of SoCal. I want to find key elements that tell a story, while capturing the mood I'm feeling in the scene. This is taken in Huntington Beach, which is a city that really embraces surf culture. It's like the entire city just exudes surfing. It hold one of the most popular Surf Open contests every year. So, with this shot I just had to wait for all the key elements to line up. Good light, colorful sunset, decent waves, and then the mixture of the gaurd tower and some people heading into the water.
