This portrait of gorgeous @fenella_ch was inspired by the late 18th century trend of “Lovers‘ eyes”, also known as eye miniatures.
These intimate portraits were often commissioned out of affection towards a loved one, be it a lover, a friend, or a child, and were cherished as personal keepsakes. People would wear miniatures as delicate jewels, such as brooches, rings, or pendants and each piece told a tale that was only meaningful to their owner.
What story do you think this miniature tells us?
