My journey in photography started with landscapes, but come Rona followed by several lockdowns meant that I couldn’t travel and create the images I envisioned.
So I was forced to find new ways to craft art. I remember vividly talking about this with lovely @denise_fotografiert way before Rona hit, wondering what other genre could work for me.
One day inspiration came. I’ve photographed events and people before, but I needed something more than simple headshots and portraiture. I call the collection of my landscape work that I love the most “painterly places” from which my idea of “painterly faces” emerged.
And so, with my new found passion to create art with the human face, I obsessively worked on developing a look that was close to paintings and was uniquely mine. The journey hasn’t been easy, dotted with occasional frustration, but guided by genuine passion and filled with endless hours of learning lighting and editing.
It was clear to me exactly what I wanted to achieve. I wanted to create beautiful bespoke portraits to fall in love with. I wanted each portrait to be a masterpiece with uncompromising attention to detail. Today, I craft images like this one.
So, whatever you do, wherever you are in your journey, honour the process. You’re an amazing bundle of great potential, keep going. Even if it’s Monday 🤍

Thank you Teresa. At the moment that is not something I strive for, but I appreciate your comment.
Was just curiosity. Your work is absolutely lovely and enchanting.
