Gooooood Moorrnninnngg Death Valley / Dawn @ Dante’s View

A winter’s day
In a deep and dark December (almost 40 years ago)

The thing that amazed me about working on this image is the air, crystal clear; crisp and cold. This 35mm frame has the clarity of a medium format frame.

35mm Film / 85mm f/1.8, f/.22 (hyper-focal range), possible up to 1 minute exposure (mirror lock-up & aperture stopped down)
Kodachrome 25

Tripod
Full frame image (no crop except slide mount aperture)

Scanned @ 3200 dpi / Previewed and manual optimized for final scan and saved as .dng format

ACR optimized and manually spot healing in PhotoShop @ 300% …
Fine tuned color, contrast, sharpened jpg conversion.
