Into The Crater / Ubehebe In Black & White

I am by no means a geologist so please excuse any error or mistakes. We all have probably heard water and oil don’t mix and if you’ve spent anytime in or around a kitchen you may have experienced water coming in contact with hot oil. Well on a small scale this is a similar explosive event that produce Ubehebe Crater. Which is a Maars Crater. And, instead of hot oil, it when ground water contacts magma and flash, bang a violent but small (by volcanic terms) explosion resulting in a broad but steep crater. Ubehebe is the youngest and largest of a group of 12 maar craters.
