Last week, I met with some members of the San Diego Sheriff's Office Honor Guard and shot some individual portraits of them, as well as some group shots. This one turned out to be my favorite, because I think it captured the essence of what the Honor Guard is all about.
They're an impressive group of people who pay meticulous attention to details and maintain impeccable uniforms.
Shot with a Nikon Z8 camera using the 85mm f/1.8S lens set to f2.8. Exposure was set at 1/80 sec with ISO at 100. Lighting used was two Godox V1-N flashes using strip box modifiers, along with an LED light to give some light to the background.
Very nice portrait work. Well handled. I hate it when I see black tape over the badges though, it represents such a needless loss. Very well done.

Thank you for such an in-depth and articulate critique. I can totally understand what you mean when you clearly explain your thought processes and reasons why you came to that enlightening conclusion. Your Oscar-Wilde-like writing style and sentence structure just adds that much more enjoyment for me to want to dive deeper into making adjustments to my image so I can impress you.
Your approval is all I seek. I'll definitely try harder next time.
Not to mention the 'comment' came from a well-seasoned professional photographer at the top of their game. By the looks of the portfolio this is someone who would know it needs to be darker.
