Dawn On The Salt Pan / Meet The Colors Of A New Day

Another predawn journey on Death Valleys’ salt pan, yields yet again another face to this ever changing place. Over the winter season you can find it’s surface mostly as smooth as a billiard table. These hexagonal pattern spots, which with the seasonal winter rains will transform to one vast shallow pool. In time this jigsaw pattern of white lines transform to individual pools following the white patterns as the salts expand rises and cracks. Isolating the water to a chaotic mosaic of individual pools as far as you can see.
