South wall of a southern Utah canyon sees little to no direct sunlight for days, weeks or months during the winter season. During the winter season canyons which run north south see little direct sun on the canyon’s floor. Due to the low angle of the sun in the southern sky the canyon floor only sees full sun for an hour or two a day. One the floor is fully lit the western wall begins to recede into its own shadow which in a sort will extend across the canyon floor a begin to climb the eastern wall. As the outside world is entering the warm golden sunlight before sundown the canyon is fully enveloped in shade.
Well done…. Beautiful tone and lighting of all the elements…
Thanks you, Ed
