So. California seems to be perpetually suffering from drought conditions. Rain is mostly always a welcome relief. This day several years ago I was excited to finally be able to photograph something other than sun or coastal fog. I arrived just in time for the action to appear in the sky. This scene of the storm clouds changed dramatically over the minutes. This was taken of the Pacific Ocean at Torrey Pines Beach, a scenic beach with sandstone cliffs and a nature reserve on the top of the cliffs. In the distance is an iconic blue lifeguard station on stilts which allows for good distant viewing, shade and rest.
