Photoshop's New Facelift: Key Updates You Need to Know

Photoshop's latest update brings a series of incremental yet impactful changes, designed to enhance your editing process.

Coming to you from Unmesh Dinda with PiXimperfect, this helpful video explores the new features in Photoshop version 25.11.19. The update introduces a selection brush tool that allows for more nuanced selections with adjustable opacity. This tool can fill selections with varying transparency, which can be particularly useful when working with generative fill. The video demonstrates how this tool can be used to create selections that integrate seamlessly with existing textures and details. This nuanced control can save you time and improve the precision of your edits.

Another feature highlighted in the video is the enhancement of generative fill. This function now allows for better integration with surrounding elements, making the additions appear more natural. Dinda shows how a transparent selection can influence generative fill to take reference from surrounding textures, ensuring the new elements blend more convincingly.

The video also covers a new feature that allows for on-the-fly adjustments using an adjustment brush. This tool lets you apply adjustments like curves or hue/saturation directly to specific areas without the need for complex masking. For example, you can darken a part of your image or adjust its color with a few strokes of the brush.

In addition, the update includes improved contextual taskbar controls for shapes and transformations. You can now adjust fill, stroke, and corner roundness directly from the taskbar, making it easier to refine shapes. The taskbar also provides quick access to transformation options like rotating and flipping objects, which can streamline your design process.

The generative image feature has also seen enhancements. You can now create entire images from scratch with a new dialog box that offers various effects and style options. Whether you're looking to generate art or realistic photos, this feature provides a versatile tool for experimenting with different ideas. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Dinda.

Finally we get upscaling of gen fill. My anxiety watching this video is off the roof now. Are all of his videos at rapid spitball pace?

Hahaha many, yes, but he's the GOAT of Photoshop. Super nice guy too!!

To fast a pace to keep up with, so in to the settings and play at 75% a bit to slow but easier to follow.
