Coming to you from Manny Ortiz, this great video tutorial will show you some helpful tips for improving your portrait photography, particularly with regards to composition and posing. Posing is something a lot of us struggle with, especially since it is something a bit more nebulous and difficult to codify than things like the proper camera settings. Generally, especially with something like a shoot in found locations, it is great if you can work with the model in real-time to create poses, as this will help you find organic connections with the environment and create more natural photos, but that also puts a lot of pressure on you, especially if you are just starting out. It helps to have a few go-to poses you like and know that work well that you can fall back on to ensure you get some keepers. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Ortiz.
