In the digital age, many of us go years without ever printing our photos, which is a real shame, because no matter how sharp the screen, there really is no substitute for the tactile impression of holding a physical representation of your work in your hands. If you are new to printing your work and wondering what you need to know, check out this fantastic video tutorial that will show you everything it takes to get up and running.
Coming to you from Gary Gough, this great video tutorial will show you the ins and outs of getting started with printing your photos. If you have spent the digital age simply viewing your photos on monitors and mobile devices, there is certainly nothing wrong with that, but there is something special about seeing your images on a physical print. And beyond that, why not put your photographic skills to use to produce gifts for your family and friends or to decorate your own home? And, of course, depending on what you shoot, selling prints can be a nice source of extra income and is something you can do from home. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Gough.
I love printing at home. It immediately makes you see your images in a different way - not to be cynical, but it's almost like all the imperfections are made more obvious haha.
A note to beginners who might see printing at home as a cost saving measure - it's not. Unless of course you are selling your prints. As a hobbyist, it's more about the convenience and joy of being able to craft a physical product from your digital captures from home.
