I have been really impressed by what I have seen from the new iPhones so far, and it looks like Apple has made some serious steps forward. First is Cinematic mode, which is like portrait mode for video, offering shallow depth of field for video and the ability to change depth of field and focus in post. Beyond that, there have been impressive steps made in low-light performance, macro capabilities, and more. Along with the computational improvements, there have also been some steps forward in the hardware; in particular, the ultra-wide camera's image quality is markedly better.
