A First Look at the New Canon RF 100-300mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens

Canon's latest lens, the RF 100-300mm f/2.8 L IS USM, is here, and it promises some of the most extreme design and optical performance ever seen, making it an especially intriguing option for a wide range of photographers, including sports and wildlife shooters. This excellent video takes a look at the new lens and what you might be able to expect from it.

Coming to you from Gordon Laing, this great video review takes a first look at the Canon RF 100-300mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens. Meant to replace the 300mm f/2.8L II prime, this lens promises both insane image quality and versatility, making it an intriguing option for a wide variety of genres and applications. I have used the Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports, and I always absolutely loved the flexibility of the lens. Having another 100mm of reach beyond that of a 70-200mm f/2.8 is significant and often saves me from having to carry a second lens. While Canon's version is quite expensive, it is in line with the price of Nikon's 120-300mm f/2.8 and not that much more expensive than the launch MSRP of the 300mm f/2.8L II. I suspect it will be a popular lens among many professionals. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Laing.

Kudos Canon...this one I wan to get....I would rather spend this much on a lens than a pro specd Body.....to heck comparing it to junk brand no resale value junk brands....

Not to mention one heck of a pano lens. Some of the most detailed panoramas I have done were with the EF 200-400mm F4L IS USM extender 1.4. And EF 70-200mm. Multi row. Zoomed in. Crazy details. I bet using this for similar would yield awesome results.
