My Initial Impressions of the Sony FE PZ 16-35mm f/4 G

What is new and notable in Sony's new full frame ultra-wide angle lens? Let's take a look at how unique this lens is from similar focal length options.

Sony just announced a new ultra-wide angle lens, the Sony FE 16-35mm f/4 G with power-zoom. While this focal length and aperture combination is not at all new to the Sony full frame mirrorless system, this new lens offers a significant set of new features that have been seen on more recent Sony G and G Master lenses.

This is Sony's third 16-35mm ultra-wide angle lens option and second f/4 variant for full frame cameras. However, the feel and handling are quite comparable to that of the Sony 20mm f/1.8 G wide angle prime. Overall, this new lens is significantly compact, lightweight, and has additional functions that make it efficient for shooting both videos and stills. Adding to that, this lens was made with dust and moisture resistance features. The power-zoom feature not only makes it a handy lens for shooting videos but also makes it an attractive zoom lens choice for vlogging. In this video, let’s take a look at the build and physical features, the buttons, switches, as well as the practical applications of this new lens.
