A Review of the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens

Supertelephoto prime lenses are often prohibitively expensive, but in the past few years, we have seen a big influx of much more affordable supertelephoto zoom lenses. For Sony shooters, there is the FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS, and this fantastic video review takes a look at how it performs in practice.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost, this great video review takes a look at the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS lens. The 200-600mm is a great option for any photographer who needs extra-long focal lengths (such as wildlife or sports shooters) but who does not want to spend five figures on a top-shelf professional supertelephoto prime lens. Of course, in doing so, you lose a few stops of aperture, but with the autofocus and high-ISO performance of modern bodies, you can get away with narrower apertures than you used to be able to, plus you get the added flexibility of a zoom, allowing you to more easily fill the frame with your subjects without needing to move (which is often not an option in sports or wildlife work). Altogether, the 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 looks like a high-quality lens that will satisfy the needs of most users. Check out the video above for Frost's full thoughts.
