All of the major camera companies have released some incredible cameras in the last few years, but many of us do not need top-shelf features and would rather opt to save thousands of dollars by buying a more generalist option. Such cameras have come quite a way and can handle most demands, and this great video review takes a look at two of the best options, the Canon EOS R6 and the Sony a7 IV.
Coming to you from Alex Barrera, this excellent video review compares the Canon EOS R6 mirrorless camera to the Sony a7 IV for photo work. The biggest difference between the two is likely that the a7 IV has a 33-megapixel sensor, while the EOS R6 sits at 20 megapixels. That being said, one thing that I absolutely love about my EOS R and EOS R5 (and that works just as well on the EOS R6) is the ability to adapt EF lenses with no loss in performance. In fact, they often perform even better than they did on Canon's DSLRs. You can adapt lenses to Sony cameras, yes, but their performance can be a bit more hit or miss. Nonetheless, both are fantastic cameras and are quite capable for their respective prices. Check out the video above for Barrera's full thoughts on both cameras.
Why is this even an article?! I'm sorry, the two cameras have nothing in common. Some will like the Sony, other will like Canon. Either brand loyalty or features will prevail. I'd rather have an in-depth review rather than comparison.
Definitely pound 4 pound the sony is light years ahead
And sony has a range of lenses that cover all the bases
I would guess that you are a Sony user ? Good for you!
I switched from the R6 and R5 to the A7IV and I’ve been shooting Canon for 20 years. I like it because it’s a mini R5 that doesn’t overheat.
Your comparison of “light years” only proves you’re a troll.
My all time favorite wide angle lens is the Canon EFS 10-22mm. No barrel distortion. Amazing for city travel photography. I cannot imagine using the Canon R6 as my only camera, but the R5...
