Space Oddity: Chris Hadfield Makes First Ever Music Video from Space

This is one of those projects that is almost beyond words. Astronaut Chris Hadfield shot this music video to express his feelings of leaving the International Space Station, and it's basically the coolest possible way to go out. If you haven't yet seen this (which you probably have but heck, it's so amazing I just had to share), quit reading and hit the play button. Your life needs this music video.

Hadfield describes it as "a revised version of David Bowie's Space Oddity... With thanks to Emm Gryner, Joe Corcoran, Andrew Tidby and Evan Hadfield for all their hard work.

I don't know about you guys, but I want to see a behind-the-scenes of this one.

This canuck is pretty talented.. Been following Cmdr Hadfield for his entire time at the ISS. He is on his way home tonight... follow Chris at @Cmdr_Hadfield on twitter. Well done.

I mean all the emphasis I can muster when I say that this is the coolest fucking thing I've seen in a very long time. Chris is a very talented man doing what probably everyone with a camera wishes they could do. I wish NASA would excite me like the CSA has been.

The ISS is a joint space partnership with many space organizations, including CSA, NASA, Russian space project as well.
This is something for ALL citizens of EARTH, not just Canada or the USA.

I mean the youtube channel he has that is always interesting. Anymore, NASA seems to me to be too caught up with being completely empirical, afraid that if they do something like this video, the pundits would rip into them for "wasting taxpayer money."

Not many times in my life I can say ' it's cool to be Canadian (and British)... He does us proud.

For a guy of 52 he sure has accomplished a lot in his life even without doing this first ever music video from space.. But he more or less whacked this outta the park.

Best music video ever made! Finally our tax dollars are put to good use!

Yeah, truly amazing. What a guy.

This just blew my mind. The video beautifully portrays the song, and it all comes together so cool!
