Take a Break From Your Day With This Beautiful Oregon Coast Aerial

Oregon has one of our nation's most beautiful coastlines. Seeing it from the sky from someone who really knows how to frame a shot is a real treat for the eyes.

Photographer and filmmaker Michael Shainblum has shared a number of impressive drone videos with us. This one-man studio not only records stunning footage, he then uses his editing skills to create a dramatic journey from one great composition to another.

Shainblum's weapon of choice is the DJI Mavic 2, and the quality of the video really speaks volumes to the capabilities of this device. The colors are rich, and the detail is sharp from edge to edge. I have not yet had the pleasure to dabble with a serious drone and continue to have a bit of envy. Luckily, as I like to say, the longer I wait, the better they get! What a wonderful and lush playground the Pacific Northwest appears to be. The music and the pacing are, as always, very well done.

I may be showing my age a bit, but I wonder how far this is from where the movie The Goonies was shot. The rock formation looked similar to what I've seen in Cannon Beach. Either way, this turned out to be a gem of a piece, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Wow.. Beautiful.... at sec 19 you can see two little boulders near the right-center... they look like the ones shown in "The Goonies" movie where the kids hold a coin like shaped object matching the boulders.

Nope, sorry. It's not the Cannon Beach area. It looks to me like the stretch between Gold Beach and Brookings with a bit from near Yachats. Gorgeous video, though!

i feel like i need to use my drone more
