A Look at an Astrophotographer's Best Image

Astrophotography is a tremendously challenging genre, requiring specialized equipment, excellent technique, a lot of knowledge, and loads of patience. However, when you get a good image, it is all worth it, as you can capture some of the most remarkable photos of our universe. This great video follows an astrophotographer as he captures what he considers to be the best photo he has taken so far.

Coming to you from Trevor Jones of Astro Backyard, this neat video takes a look at what he considers his best image so far, a shot of the Pelican Nebula. The Pelican Nebula is an emission nebula located near the star Deneb in the constellation Cygnus, so named for how it resembles a pelican. As an active star-forming region, the appearance of the nebula is constantly evolving over time. At 1,800 light-years, it is remarkably far from our home (about 10.5 quadrillion miles), something to ponder while viewing Jones' work. I have always had a ton of respect for astrophotographers. It takes a lot of specialized skills and knowledge to take serious images, and you have to have tremendous commitment to working through the night for your shots. Check out the video above to see how it was done and the impressive final image!

Trevor Jones videos on Youtube are excellent. His enthusiasm shines through. He produces some amazing images. I'd love to have the climate of clear skies, that deep sky astrophotography is very technical and is very frustrating to find the skies have clouded over. He has a very understanding partner and dog as well.

I appreciate that, Hector! I had no idea this video would be picked up by F-Stoppers. A nice surprise. It is my pleasure to document my astrophotography adventures on YouTube - I hope that others find value in my ramblings! :)

His astrophotography has improved greatly over the past few years, great capture and processing
