The Nikon Z-series has a highly impressive firmware update coming, particularly for the Z9. Version 2.0 turns Z9 into a videography and sports photography titan, and if you have any interest in using it for either of those (or a great many other uses), you're going to want to check this out.
I didn't use to care much for Nikon. It wasn't camera brand tribalism, I'd tried their bodies and they were fine, but I didn't see why I would choose one over a Canon, and I didn't, though I eventually ended up with Sony. But, a lot has changed, and now Nikon has some incredible cameras, with their flagship Z9 impressing many.
Now, Nikon is about to release version 2.0 of their firmware for the Z9 and it brings so many new features, it's tantamount to a new camera, depending on what you use it for. The first area that many are excited about is the video capabilities with the addition of 8.3k 60p internal raw, some more video functionality, and 12-bit N-RAW and ProPres RAW formats.
Then for photography, there is the pre-release capture (and post-release capture) to make sure your reaction speeds don't cost you the shot.
Honestly, firmware 2.0 has turned the Z9 into unambiguously one of the best professional-grade hybrid bodies on the market.
