A Step by Step Guide on How to Light a Wine Bottle Product Shot

It's surprising how many friends I know that live in wine country. And yet not surprising how many of them have taken up the camera. They all ask me the same thing.  "Do you know of any good resources for how to photograph wine bottles?" Well now I feel like I can say that I do, as I point to this video by instructional photographer Karl Taylor and Broncolor photographer Urs Recher.Obviously a set up of this magnitude is not really going to fly for the beginner photographer but it will certainly give them something to reach for while helping them out along the way. In the mean time, the rest of us can at least learn a trick or two from it.

In this 'how to' video Karl Taylor & Urs Recher look at the techniques required for good bottle product photography. In this case a bottle of wine is photographed in a small set to add ambience and style to the product. Enjoy!

Great teaching for a subtile glass lighting. Might be usefull :)

Looks a lot like my setup. Except I use one softbox, and one reflector. Lol. I'm going to add a second light with a snoot, because I like the way it light the table surface.

Karl never ceases to amaze me. In such short time a great result. I've learned a lot with him in the begining!

brilliant attention to detail
