We sat down with Fstoppers' best commercial product photographer to critique this weeks product photos from the community. Do you agree with Brian's and my ratings and feedback?

For the first time in Critique history, we had a perfect tie for the highest community rated image and will be awarding both entrants a free Fstoppers original tutorial. Congratulations to Roman Sapronov and Max Bridge for submitting the winning images. We'd also like to congratulate jurian kriebel for submitting the randomly selected image to win a free tutorial. We will be in touch with all of you via your Fstoppers profile to claim your prize.

Usually we post our new Critique where you can submit images for a different genre than the latest episode. However, next week we'll be changing things up. Instead of accepting submissions, we will be picking out a variety of 5 star images from the community to comment on. It is extremely rare for a 5 star image to show up in a weekly episode but we want to take the opportunity to exclusively highlight some of the best photographers in the Fstoppers community. Stay tuned for more episodes by keeping an eye on our contests page

I don't know, personally I can associate the goldish color to envy, more than the green, but I think might be a sort of cultural/habit difference with symbols.

Mauro, surely you've heard the well known phrase: "Green with envy"?

Actually now that you've mentioned that, in fact I did. I can still see the goldish. Of course a green or gold paint drop without the envy print on top, I'd never associate it to that meaning.

No of course not.

Thanks for the comments guys. To be honest I never heard of that phrase or anything regarding 'envy' being green. I'm not a native English speaker, so maybe that's why. This image is part of a series of 3, which show different parts of the laptop, more or less showing off the beautiful design of it. The yellow paint was there to create some visual interest and referring to the colorful display it has. I tried changing it to green after I saw the comments about it and because it made sense, but it just looks terrible :).

Gold is a nice contrasting color with the gray surface of the laptop, agree!

He should have Photoshopped the PC name to "NACHO" :-P

There are some great images entered but all the ratings that people game them were just way too low for what they were.

Funny thing...I have that exact drill in my garage!! :-)

It's an awesome looking drill!

Thanks to everyone who submitted images for this critique! We had over 200 product image submissions which is incredible. Though we only had time to review 20 images, I wanted to say thank you for submitting your work. You guys are producing some great imagery, and I hope my feedback was helpful to those we were able to critique. \m/

It was great to participate and see all the amazing art the other photographers created, well done everyone involved !

Thank you Brian for your time and the constructive critique. We all appreciate it.

Awesome, I'm really glad to hear that :)

These are not product photos, they are (very nice) product images (photos + tons of Photoshop and post production)…
