Drones can enable you to get some pretty epic footage that you wouldn't dream of with a normal camera, but they also require an entirely separate skill set as well as a different way of visualizing your shots. This helpful video will give you 20 tips for creating more professional-looking drone footage.
Coming to you from Drone Film Guide, this awesome video gives some very practical advice for obtaining better drone footage. Of the tips, my favorite is probably learning to think of your drone as more than just a device for getting a high-altitude perspective. Even 10-20 feet off the ground, they can provide a beautiful angle for a shot or simply give you the ability to get into spaces you couldn't otherwise. For example, in the photo below, I would have had to hike through about an acre of very thorny bushes and then learn to walk on water to get the shot. Instead, I stood about a half-mile away, flew my way along the shoreline, then just hovered about 5 feet above the water and got the exact perspective I wanted.
Give the video above a watch for a bunch of great tips and techniques.
