10 Mistakes Beginner Photographers Commonly Make

When you are new to photography, there is a lot to learn and practice, and it can be easy to go wrong and make a mistake. This excellent video tutorial discusses 10 mistakes beginner photographers commonly make and how you can avoid or fix them.

Coming to you from Parker Walbeck, this great video tutorial goes over 10 mistakes beginner photographers often make and what you can do to fix them. By far, one of the most common mistakes I see (and one I was certainly guilty of myself) is over-editing photos. It takes a bit of time to build up a discerning eye and subtle touch when it comes to editing, and as such, it can be easy to go overboard when you are starting out and end up with a rather garish result. In general, it is better to err on the side of under-editing. One way to help mitigate the issue is to step away from your computer for a minute or two after you finish editing an image, then come back to it after refreshing your eyes. This can help to reset the sort of tunnel vision a lot of us fall into during editing, and often, you will notice any issues at this point. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Walbeck.
