13 Common Photography Mistakes and Tips to Avoid Making Them

Photography is a combination of technical and artistic technique and decisions, and it can be easy to make a misstep somewhere that derails an entire image. This great video details 13 common mistakes photographers make and provides some helpful tips for avoiding or fixing them.

Coming to you from Nigel Danson, this helpful video goes over 13 common mistakes we all tend to make and what we can do to improve them. Of the list, the most salient for me was accidentally leaving the wrong settings on your camera. I shoot a lot of different things that often require vastly different settings, and there have been plenty of times I have gotten underway with the next shoot, only to realize that I'm still using the old settings and none of the images are coming out properly. I finally made it a habit to carefully check my settings when I first pull my camera out, and this eventually expanded to learning to carefully check everything: lens switches, battery, memory cards, etc. It's a great habit to get into. Check out the video above for more of Danson's helpful tips, and be sure to share any mistakes you've made a lot and how you fixed them.

Why not provide a summery of the "mistakes" in the post? Often times, watching a video can be a PIA.

Just saying.
