5 Common Mistakes New Photographers Make

When you are new to photography, it can be a bit overwhelming trying to learn and master a multitude of techniques and technical parameters all while developing a creative style at the same time. It is completely normal to make mistakes along the way. This helpful video tutorial discusses five common mistakes beginners make and how to fix them or avoid them entirely so you can get on the path to better images more quickly.

Coming to you from Robin Wong, this great video tutorial discusses five common mistakes beginner photographers make and how to fix them. One particularly salient point that I was certainly guilty of when I was first starting out was simply shooting everything. When you are new to photography, everything can seem exciting, and there is certainly nothing wrong with riding that wave. On the other hand, learning to develop a discerning eye will help you to create better, more compelling photos and not miss out on special moments that might pass you by if you are not looking for them. Take the time to think through shots instead of just shooting blindly, and you'll find your creative eye improving quickly. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Wong.
