5 Things Photographers Need to Unlearn

There are some common habits that photographers tend to fall into, some beneficial and some detrimental. If you want to improve your images and continue to grow as a creative, check out this fantastic video tutorial that discusses five common habits photographers need to unlearn.

Coming to you from James Popsys, this excellent video tutorial discusses five common things photographers should unlearn to become better. One particularly salient point that I think often gets overlooked is the importance of trying other types of photography. Even if it is something you do not plan to pursue, shooting outside your normal genre can have tremendous benefits on what you do normally photograph. For example, the problem-solving and lighting challenges that go into product photography can improve your studio lighting quite a bit. Or, if you are a portrait photographer, shooting landscapes, street photography, or architecture can help you to improve your compositions and create more interesting images in which you use the environment around your subject to frame them or to tell a story. It is great practice if you are in the habit of just shooting portraits at a wide aperture and blowing the background into bokeh-laden smithereens. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Popsys.

I have a suggestion please: no videos but written articles with pictures. We're not always at home and watching a video on the move, in the office or while wife is watching a movie is not easy. Articles pls...
