Learning photography can be a bit daunting, especially as you try to tackle a range of technical parameters while also learning to find your creative voice. This excellent video tutorial will show you a wide range of basic things you need to know that will get you up and running in no time.
Coming to you from Mike Smith, this helpful video tutorial will show you all the basics of photography in just eight minutes. As Smith details, one of the best things you can do to improve is to simply put your camera in manual mode. It is common to keep your camera in fully automatic mode when you are first starting, and while modern cameras can do a pretty good job in most scenarios, if you want to take full creative control of your photos, you need to make exposure decisions yourself, as each of the three exposure parameters also carries with it creative consequences, and your camera can't read your mind. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Smith.
And if you would like to continue on your photography journey, be sure to take a look at the tutorials in the Fstoppers store.
And yet, it will take decades to master them :-) actually despite watching many videos, what helped me was books. Bryan Peterson, Bruce Barnbaum (the art of photography), etc.
The videos give you quick start though and it helps many people who wouldn't read books (like the ones who dislike use manuals) :-)
Good video.
