Helpful Tips for Posing Couples Who Aren't Models in Engagement Photos

Posing can be a difficult skill for a lot of photographers to master, and of course, it can twice as tricky when you add in a second person. If posing couples is something you need to work on, this fantastic video will give you tons of helpful advice for posing couples for engagements photos.

Coming to you from our friend, Pye Jirsa, over at SLR Lounge, this great video will give you lots of great tips to improve your couples posing. Posing is something a lot of photographers tend to struggle with a bit, particularly since it can feel like a more nebulous topic to learn and practice than something more readily quantified like camera settings or the like. I have found it helps to have some readymade poses that I know will work that I can fall back on if I ever need to, as posing is something that introduces the human element, and you never know how that might influence a shoot depending on a couple's connection, their moods on that day, etc. While I try to approach every shoot as organically as possible, it always helps to know I have those in my back pocket should I need them. Check out the video above for loads of helpful tips and advice from Jirsa.
