The brush tool actually has an insane amount of customization options, and depending on what you're working on, this can save you loads of time in the editing process or enable you to try out new creative ideas that push the envelope a bit. For example, as Nace shows in the video, with just a few quick adjustments of the brush settings, you can easily create a convincing snowfall effect that adds a lot of visual interest to a wintertime portrait. Creating a similar effect without using a custom brush would be both very time-consuming and rather difficult, since humans are notoriously bad at mimicking the randomness needed to make it look real.
