As June mentions, one of the primary differences is that you will want to primarily use burning as opposed to dodging to help maintain your subject's skin tone. And just like any technique in which you are working near the pixel level, it is generally a good idea to zoom out every few minutes just to take in the overall progress of your work to make sure you are not going overboard with the overall edit so you can keep things looking natural.
