Some Helpful Dos and Don'ts in Landscape Photography

Landscape photography is a unique genre full of its own challenges and difficulties, but it can also be highly rewarding and even meditative. This helpful video discusses several dos and don'ts of landscape photography to improve both your work and your experience.

Coming to you from First Man Photography, this great video discusses some helpful dos and don'ts of landscape photography. Of the many great points, perhaps the most salient for me was not obsessing about location. It can be easy when you spend a lot of time on the internet or Instagram to begin to think that it's only possible to make good landscape photos in epic locations. While such locations are certainly beautiful and worth visiting and shooting, it's important not to get hung up on thinking they're the only worthwhile places. With the right perspective, almost any location can yield great images. I actually find it much more satisfying to create compelling images from less obviously beautiful landscapes, as it really challenges my creative skills and helps me to develop my eye more. Check out the video above for more.
