Ascending the heavily crevassed Ingraham Glacier on Mt. Rainier as the sun rises. Mt. Adams can be seen rising above the clouds in the distance.

I found this climb incredibly difficult to photograph especially while being on a rope team with two others and an ice axe in one hand. Moving in unison and 100% concentration is required in terrain such as this. So stopping to compose a photograph an ensure camera settings are correct becomes quite a challenge.

I know it's an opinion, but I think this is one of the best examples of the "Adventure Photography" category posted so far. 4 stars.

Thanks, Ryan. I know it may not be a technically perfect image, but considering it was taken before the sun fully rose and while trying to not fall in a crevasse I think it turned out well. I have some other photos from this day that are cleaner, but this one gives the best sense of scale and showcases the true nature of the climb.

This one shows what is frustrating about this category...this is a great photo...there’s a couple of things that i’d change with the position of the people...but the thing is when you’re up there you have to make due with what you have and what you can safely do...compared to the many tent photos where you have complete control over the subject...

Anyways, well done and this should be rated higher!

Thanks, man! It's definitely challenging to get the perfect composition in a situation like this. That's why the story carries so much weight in this category in my opinion.

To get those top shots you just gotta keep getting out there and keep shooting. Taking photos isn't the reason I'm out there in the first place anyways!
