This is a Long Exposure of the famous Boston skyline view from the harbor walk when a storm was approaching. I left home with idea to catch the storm at a lighthouse up north on Cape Ann; however, while I was driving it was clear that the clouds were approaching too fast. I then decided to head here and now I am happy I did. It was a very hot day with temperatures above 100F, so hot in fact that my camera was overheating creating a lot of red pixels. Had to take a second shot with lens hood to subtract them. This is color graded with more blues in the shadows and oranges in the highlights, I then de-saturated the whole image for a more moody look. There is nothing fake in the sky, this is 6 minutes exposure with a wide angle lens, the higher clouds are clearly faster than the few lower hanging ones.

Great capture! I love the composition and the way the clouds are moving.

Thank you Derek, the clouds were coming straight at me, the wide angle perspective helps a lot for the clouds streak direction

Thank you for explaining how the color grading was critical to this image.
