This is my very first attempt at compositing a twilight.

Pretty impressive. Hard to believe its your first attempt.

Technically, I guess you could say it was my second; I tried it on my girlfriend's parents house (much smaller, much less interesting, and not a whole lot to show for it) just to practice with the equipment/technique before trying it "for real" on a real listing. So I did have a bit of foreknowledge on what to expect from my strobes, camera, etc going into it.

My major concern/self-critique is that it might look a bit too "surreal" or overprocessed. The realtor seemed to really like it, in any case, so I think it's a success in that regard. Realtors aren't photographers, though, so to CTC it goes...

If you had the time, you might have considered taking a shot with a flash in the downstairs room just to make that yellow a little more natural looking. What I like about twilights are the warm color and cool color contrast. But sometimes they can be a little heavy. I think the image would benefit from bringing down the yellows in the bottom rooms a touch.

I think you're right, those and that dormer up top seem a little nuclear the more I look at it. I pulled the yellows down in lightroom and it looks a whole lot better, little late to fix it now though, lol

Beautiful! I love that the lights aren't blown out as some of the other images I have seen, but I guess i just wish you had chosen another composition. I find the bare planter with the tree distracting and would have loved to see the whole house. Your color grading is beautiful though.

Thanks! Yeah, this was quite a bit of a compromise. There's a slope down to a golf green that drops off severely right behind me, meaning the best I could do with the equipment on hand was set up slightly below house level, close in, aiming up. I had to correct perspective pretty significantly in post.
