While shooting kingfishers from a hide in a stream, I offered a Gitzo and put it in the water for a few months with the head just below the surface. Each time I went in the hide, I put on waders and placed my second body with a 300mm on the tripod. The camera was controlled with a Camranger and iPad, so I was able to controle the settings, focus and press the shutter. This way I made a few nice shots, on this morning the bird was backlit through some fog, which gave it a beautiful almost monochrome tone, so the blue of the kingfisher stands out even more.
