I like the vibe of the shot. It's missing something for me ... perhaps if the person & luggage were a bit more in frame so not oddly cut off? Not sure.
i understand your point, but not sure as well... for me is more about the handrail direction, the light through and finally cast in the stairs, the sort of emptiness and abandonment it emphasizes in a nevertheless busy public non-place
