Could be my monitor but the glass rim does not seem in focus the whole way around the glass. If the focus had been nailed on the rim of the glass, solid three begging to be a four.
Two of the lights seem to be dim on the string of lights.
I like the shot. But, don't Love it. technically it is close to being a great shot. I have just seen so many like it this season. That is not your fault, but plays into my vote.
Thank you for the feedback Andy. I (perhaps misguidedly) wanted to draw the viewers eye to the star anise pod so that is where I focused and left the rim of the glass you're referring to slightly out of focus. Regarding the lights, there are things I'd do differently next time (slow down my shutter speed and adjust aperture/iso/flash power accordingly from there) since they were LED lights and my camera was catching the flickering, hence the two lights appearing to be dimmer. Again, thank you for the feedback!
