Not so much quirky in the sense of being funny, but quirky in the sense of lightening up a dark theme.
This was album cover art for my friend Cody Rife's first solo EP "The Art of Suffering." It's four songs about the loss of his son – through the legal system, not death – and the suffering he's been dealing with as a result of not being able to see him. He wanted to use fake blood, and be covered in it - a la DMX. But I suggested using craft supplies to symbolize the blood, as a way of bringing in the child theme to the cover art.
Great image, I love how you've made something dark in a "light" way
