This is probably the most backlit image I've taken, and the backlight really makes the picture in my opinion. I took this during a live Scream Inc. concert and had to wait for the exact perfect moment for the lights to come behind the lead guitarist creating this effect.

The color is interesting, but overall this isn't what I would call a portfolio ready concert shot, regardless of the back lighting. The microphone completely covers the subject, unfortunately. If possible, try to shoot a few feet farther to the right or left next time (not so directly under the microphone stand) to give some space between the subject (singer) and the microphone so it doesn't block the subject in the photo.
I wasn't physically able to move left or right but I agree that the microphone is a bit distracting. Thank you for being one of the few people to actually critique the picture instead of dropping a 1 star with no comment like so many people here do.
