'Styrofoam Head'
Long exposure shot on a Mamiya RB67, 90mm at F22
I bought a styrofoam head at the local arts and crafts store with the intent to shoot it. A single continuous light casts harsh shadows and suspends the object in black, negative space. I want you to squint, and try to figure out what's going on. At first glance the contours and shapes make it appear like a real head. But look closer you can see the artificiality of it. The fused ear, the dents and dimples, the absence of hair.
Fear is what it evokes in me. I expect the head to turn and looks right at me in the menacing red light.
